• Recruitment

My recruitment experience and expertise spans four decades. I find it hugely rewarding and stimulating the process of working through what’s needed, reviewing the options and identifying the pearls which can transform the fortunes of an organisation. It is the ultimate people challenge and comes with a richness of possibility (and a certain amount of magic).

Finding top talent

I have a broad and deep experience in recruitment, from leading graduate recruitment teams for Procter and Gamble, to leading the recruitment for the most senior roles across the Tesco business.

I have had experience of a wide range of recruitment models from P&G’s management led graduate recruitment and promote from within, to developing an unprecedented external recruitment campaign and development programme for high potential talent for Tesco who became the future leaders. Further I established a Tesco inhouse resourcing capability for junior and middle management and have run bespoke social media campaigns for C-suite roles.

Finally as a No. 10 appointed Senior Independent Panel Member for Non-Executive Chair, Director and Trustee roles across government, I have been fortunate to work with the most senior people across government, business and the charity sector.  I relish the challenge of finding the optimum fit for remarkably talented people taking on some of the biggest challenges in the country.

“Catherine recently acted as an Independent Panel Member on the Advisory Assessment Panel for the BBC Chair campaign. Catherine was an extremely valuable member of the AAP; from the outset she was responsive and engaged and ensured that she had undertaken the necessary preparation and reading ahead of the interview process. Throughout the process, she used her extensive HR and people skills to meaningfully contribute to discussions both with the candidates and the Panel. She provided insightful commentary and useful feedback, ensuring consensus was reached, but also willing to diplomatically and constructively challenge views where relevant and appropriate.”

Olivia Morrell, Head of Public Appointments at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport

“I am delighted to say that Catherine was one of the most accomplished Independent panellists I have come across. She not only discharged her duties with skill and professionalism but brought to the discussions real insight and understanding of people’s motivations. Catherine’s observations were extremely helpful – thoughtful, perceptive and constructive. As Chair, Catherine’s perceptiveness was of immense value in assessing and evaluating candidates for Trusteeship.”
